Would you agree with this statement? — “Life is a series of ups and downs.”
If you are like 99.99% of people you agree with that sentiment. You’ve had some amazing moments (ups), but you’ve also experienced some painful ones (downs).

Did anyone tell you about something great that happened to them this week?
How did you respond?
When was the last time you received bad news? After you received the bad news what did you do?
I know you probably started to worry. You started to run the scenarios. You probably didn’t sleep that night(s).
Sometimes life doesn’t work out the way you plan. Sometimes your best effort doesn’t produce your best hopes and dreams.
Sometimes you can do everything right and it all goes wrong.
You know what a cycle is…it’s an event that keeps repeating itself.
Every new year we set out to break some of the cycles and habits that have us stuck. But even New Year’s resolutions have become a cycle. We make one. We are committed that this year will be different. But before the year is out and in most cases before the month is out we are back into that old cycle that seems to haunt us.
Are you confused about what you should do next? As you come to the end of the year and look at a new one you’ll have some decisions to make. Some will be easy, others will be difficult and painful.
Even if you know what you should do uncertainty about the details can feel paralyzing as you try to plan and move forward.
Is there a habit you wish you could start that seems so elusive?
We all know our life would be better if certain routines were part of it, but it seems almost impossible to carve out time to make the habits a reality.
I believe your future looks very bright. No matter how dark it seems right now. Why do I believe that?
Because God always keeps His promises and He has promised to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
Do you ever find that it’s difficult to be consistently grateful? I do. It’s easy to be thankful around Thanksgiving. Many people even take the month of November and list something they are grateful for each day on Facebook. I love it!
But as soon as the Thanksgiving feast is finished something strange begins to happen.
Have you ever noticed we tend to say “now” and “later” to the wrong things?
We make tons of decisions every day. Part of that decision making process is deciding whether to do something about it “now” or “later.”
