How much money would it take for you to feel financially secure? Most of us have a number we think if we could just get to we would feel secure. We finally could stop worrying about money.
We have a number for our salary, a number for our savings, and a number for our retirement account that would let us rest easier.
Summer is finally here! It is such an amazing time of year! We look forward to it all year long!
Some people love summer so much they move to experience it year round. We hate those people in New York and doubt whether they are really Christians if they’re not willing to endure suffering. (Of course I’m only slightly kidding 🙂 )
Have you ever felt like you invested in someone’s life and you didn’t see the change you had hoped for?
You poured a lot of time, energy, and love into the relationship, but now they aren’t part of your life. Maybe it was because they moved, had a life change, or you were heading in different directions. Whatever the reason it can make your investment feel pointless and maybe even like a waste of time.
As you read through the New Testament you’ll come across a certain phrase over and over again. The phrase is “one another” and it’s talking about how Christians are suppose to act toward one another.
These “one another’s” seem like basic human decency or relationships 101. Love one another…be kind to one another…serve one another…forgive one another…pray for one another…encourage one another. There’s over 50 of these “one another” passages and each one seems like you shouldn’t have to tell people to do those things. You would think it would come natural.
Have you ever heard someone talk about God in a way that you knew wasn’t God? They said something like… “I can’t believe in a God who would ______” or “I can’t believe in a God who hates ______.”
The first thought that crosses my mind is, “You’re right that’s not God.”
Who is the happiest person you know? Why do you think they are so happy?
I hope that the most joyful and happy people you know are Christians, but that isn’t always the case. Some Christians really struggle with being happy. They can’t laugh. They don’t smile. It’s almost like they think it’s a sin to be happy.
In pop culture 3AM is when everything bad is supposed to happen. It’s known as the “witching hour”. 3AM has become a metaphor for when things fall apart and you hit rock bottom.
